As CIO for Information (Head Shared Information Service, SIS), I head the Swiss Re unit that deals with every aspect of information: how it is captured, stored and used as well as assuring end-to-end compliance.
We capture a wide range of digital and paper-based information and convert as well as preprocess it. Unstructured information is stored in multiple document repositories and collaboration solutions. Structured information is kept within our data warehouse and master data solutions. To ensure compliant handling of all information, we manage user identities, access, records and life cycles. We provide our rich information base to various business applications and leverage it directly in two ways – first, through various business intelligence solutions, and second, by way of our fast-growing information analytics unit for smart analytics, cognitive computing and big data. In addition, we drive the enabling components for Swiss Re's digital journey, including public-facing portals and external collaboration and messaging platforms.
