Peter Hausmann graduated 1986 in Rural Engineering and Geodesy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH in Zurich and started his career at Elektrowatt, Zurich, as consulting engineer in groundwater modelling and GIS/CAD. In 1990 he joined Swiss Re in Zurich. After working as Storm and Flood Specialist he took over the responsibility for research & development for the Cat Perils unit where Swiss Re’s in-house natcat pricing tools for atmospheric perils, flood and earthquake are developed. He is currently heading the Cat Perils Europe Hub and also in a leading role regarding Swiss Re's CatNet, a global data standard for catastrophe exposure data as well as a member of the Board of PERILS AG.
