The Telegraph in the UK reports that a study, conducted on behalf of NFU Mutual, has revealed that more than one million families have been forced to sell their home in just five years to meet the cost of paying for residential care. The study also describes how younger people who are currently relying on an inheritance to fund their own retirement could be facing serious financial problems if they do not make alternative plans urgently.
Any thoughts on whether this is a crisis or a necessary change in attitude and use of capital?
