A single incident of “crossed wires” in intrapersonal communication woke a sleeping dragon and started a chain of events that led to the largest power outage in North American history. The U.S. Department of Energy estimated the total cost of that incident at $4.5-12 billion in lost economic activity. Was this a freak occurrence? We hold otherwise. We believe that it was but a harbinger of things to come. In this, we differ from what most of the energy industry would like us to believe. ( Follow link for more )
